Screen Free Week
On May 1-7, Swasey will participate in Screen Free Week! We encourage you to rediscover the joys of life beyond the screen and limit screen time as much as possible and to choose activities that don't include phones, tablets, TV, etc. Plan to unplug from digital entertainment and spend all that free time playing, daydreaming, creating, exploring and connecting with family and friends! Rose is a Competency-Based Learning and Assessment Specialist assisting schools throughout the United States in designing high quality competency, assessment and grading systems. A New Hampshire resident, Rose is a motivational speaker and presenter in the areas of competency-based learning, digital learners, differentiation, and school leadership. She is an author, a consultant to the NH Department of Education, an Adjunct Professor in Educational Leadership at Plymouth State University, has been a partner in the Nellie Mae Education Foundation, and has served as Principal in Residence for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Currently she is working with SAU 16 schools to support our efforts as we move toward implementing competency based education for all of our students. Please click here to watch the video.
